â—¼ Date Sorting: Files will be automatically sorted by date when dates are detected in your journal entries.

◼ Pin Important Files: Pin files like goals, your profile, and mission statements in the file tree—they receive heavier weight in AI prompt context.

First Beta Launch - Security Setup Required

Since this is our first beta release, you'll need to manually approve the app to run on your system. This is normal for new applications and only needs to be done once.

macOS Instructions

  1. Download and double-click to open
  2. If blocked, go to System Settings
  3. Navigate to Privacy & Security
  4. Click "Open Anyway" next to Isla Journal

Windows Instructions

  1. Download and extract the ZIP file
  2. Right-click the app and select "Run as administrator"
  3. If Windows Defender blocks it, click "More info"
  4. Then click "Run anyway"

Next Steps After Download

  1. Extract the ZIP file to your preferred location (Downloads folder works fine)
  2. Open the extracted folder and locate the isla_journal application file
  3. Double-click isla_journal to launch the app (follow security steps above if needed)
  4. Complete initial setup - Isla will automatically save your journal files to your device from this point forward

Once setup is complete, all your journal entries will be stored locally on your device with complete privacy.
